Mayan God B - Chaac

From FAMSI's Dresden Codex, page 44, comes this depiction of Chaac, God B.
Chaac was the main rain god and perhaps the main god. His portrayals are very common in carvings and paintings. He is usually shown with big eyes (often with tears flowing). He has a long curving nose. His ear usually has an elaborate ornament. He often has an axe to strike with and produce lightning. Like other Maya deities, he can be four different gods, one for each direction.

This Chaac figure above is holding a fish, which was one of his emblems of course, and is associated with water. He is sitting on the imix glyph which represents a crocodile.

I think old Chaac has always been a favorite of mine. Ever since "meeting" him in Uxmal.
